A school in Kainakary wrote to say its students passed
Nine months after the 2018 Kerala floods, a headmaster in Alappuzha sent us his SSLC results.

Kainakary sits in Kuttanad, below sea level, in the part of Alappuzha the August–September 2018 floods hit hardest. SNDP HSS Kuttamangalam is the only higher secondary school there.
On 27 May 2019 its headmaster wrote to us. The school had taken its SSLC examinations in March and come through with a 100% pass. One student had an A+ in all ten subjects; three more had A+ in nine.
He set it against the year they had had: “we were one of the schools, which mostly affected during the academic year due to the high flood in August – September 2018.”
We supported that school after the floods. What the letter records is what happened next.
