TechieRide — for a better society

For companies

Working with TechieRide

What the work is, what it has already delivered, and where our registrations stand — including the part that may rule us out for you. That last one is first, because it is the question your compliance team will ask.

Read this first

Where our registrations stand

Stated plainly, because it decides whether the rest of this page is any use to you.

Under Section 135 of the Companies Act 2013, a company cannot book a contribution as CSR spend unless the recipient is registered with the MCA on Form CSR-1. TechieRide is a society registered in Hyderabad, Telangana, number 1947/2016. We are not publishing a 12A, 80G, CSR-1 or FCRA position yet, and we would rather say so on the first screen than imply an answer either way.

So if your giving routes through Section 135 — and for most Indian companies it does — that is the question to settle with us before anything else here matters. Ask us directly and you will get a direct answer.

If your company also gives outside that route — an employee-engagement or volunteering budget, a foundation, matched giving — the position is usually different, and the rest of this page is written for you. Your own policy decides that, not us.

Organisation and registration

The work

What a company can fund

Six programmes, run by working members at weekends. Each links to what it has actually done, where, and on whose evidence.

  • Village Ride

Library books, sports materials and classroom resources for rural government schools — delivered in person, alongside career-guidance and motivational sessions for students.

    What it has done

  • Blood Donation

A donor group inside the community, matched against live requests from hospitals and families across the city.

    What it has done

  • VidyaNidhi

Fees, books, and where it is needed hostel and mess, for students who would otherwise stop — carried from Intermediate through to professional degrees. Some are funded by the community; some by a single member who takes on one student end to end.

    What it has done

  • Prakruthi

Tree planting in school grounds, plastic-awareness walks and cleanliness drives — placards painted by hand the night before.

    What it has done

  • Summer Water Camp

Free roadside drinking water through the Telangana summer — the traditional చలివేంద్రం (chalivendram), restocked daily by members.

    What it has done

  • Tribal Support

Staples and medicines for tribal families near Wyra, Khammam.

Scale

What has already been handled

The question behind every CSR conversation is whether an organisation can absorb and account for the amount on offer. These are the figures, each carrying its scope and its date.

A programme at ₹50 lakh+

The ₹50 lakh+ figure above is Village Ride alone — not total fundraising. One programme, raised and directed into rural government schools. It is the clearest answer we have to what this community can carry on a single line of work.

At the other end of the range, the most recent documented handover is sports materials worth ₹12,000 to one Zilla Parishad high school — acknowledged by its Gazetted Head Master on school letterhead, under the school seal, on 26 January 2025. Both numbers are true and the distance between them is the point: the work scales down to one school and up to a programme.

Outcomes, not activity

VidyaNidhi has carried 10 students through fees, books, hostel and mess. 6 have finished: an MBBS now reading for an MD in gynaecology, a BTech from NIT Warangal, an MS from NIT Trichy, a chartered accountant serving articles, and a trained teacher who holds a government post — at one of the schools Village Ride visits.

None of them is named here and none will be. A deck circulated to members may name a student who needed money to finish their education; a public website may not, and that is theirs to tell.

Accountability

What evidence looks like here

What we can show you today, and what we cannot. Both matter to a diligence team, so both are listed.

What exists

  • 4 institutional letters — from the schools and associations themselves, on their own letterhead, reproduced in full rather than summarised. Earliest 27 May 2019.
  • A government award — the Good Samaritan Award from the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, signed by the Commissioner of Police, 30 May 2020.
  • Annual General Meet decks — the organisation reporting on itself in writing to its own members, which is where the current figures on this page come from.
  • Dated press coverage — including EdexLive and ETV Bharat, each record carrying its publication date.

What does not exist yet

  • An annual report or audited statement. Not published. If your process requires one before a conversation, it requires something we do not have today.
  • A standing utilisation-reporting format. What a funder would receive back has not been set down, and we are not going to describe one on a website before agreeing it with you.
  • A way to give money on this site. There is deliberately no donate button and no account number published here. Every mention of donation elsewhere on this site refers to blood donation .

Employee engagement

Your people may already be here

TechieRide is a community of working software employees, and the single most likely true thing about your company and this organisation is that some of your staff are already members.

As counted in May 2025, the membership spans 375 workplaces, and the twenty largest concentrations account for 437 members between them. We publish that list because the most-asked question of a carpooling community is whether anyone nearby is going the same way.

To be unambiguous about what that list is and is not: those are the companies members work for, nothing more. None of them is a partner, a sponsor or a donor to TechieRide, and nothing on this site should be read as an endorsement by any employer.

What it does mean is that a volunteering or engagement programme here would not be starting from nothing. The work already happens at weekends, run by people who do your kind of job during the week.

Starting a conversation

There is no form on this page and no proposal template. The useful first message says which programme interests you and what your routing requires — Section 135 or otherwise — and you will get a straight answer about whether we can meet it.
